At Effective HR, you will join a team of highly skilled HR and industrial relations professionals who take pride in delivering exceptional advice. Our clients trust us with complex, business-critical matters, giving you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge and continually strengthen your technical capability.
Your development begins on day one with an individual development plan tailored to your strengths and areas for growth. Through complex client work, ongoing support, and purposeful development, you will continue building your expertise throughout your career with us.
Our values are designed to create an exceptional experience for both our clients and employees. We remove unnecessary red tape, look for practical ways to improve our employees’ working lives, and trust our people to use their professional judgement.
Our consultants work fully remotely, attending client workplaces only when required. We offer genuine flexibility and meaningful part-time opportunities, enabling experienced professionals to continue progressing their careers while balancing commitments outside of work.
We are not a call centre or a sales-driven organisation. You will not have call-volume targets, cold-call businesses or be expected to find your own clients. Your Team Lead will allocate projects and client work so you can focus on delivering high-quality advice. As a professional consulting business, we do have minimum billable targets based on the work delivered to our clients.
We believe in being transparent about our work so we attract professionals who genuinely enjoy technically complex, IR-heavy matters.
We specialise in industrial relations and workplace compliance, including:
Our award knowledge goes beyond identifying penalty rates. We determine when breaches may occur, interpret how multiple clauses operate together, and provide compliant, commercially practical options.
We are not recruitment agents. Whilst we support our clients with recruitment, it is part of a broader HR support function focused on long-term partnerships, not simply placing a role for a sale.
Our consultants are industrial relations specialists, not generalist HR professionals whose previous exposure to IR formed only one component of their role.
You will have deep, practical IR experience across multiple modern awards and be confident interpreting an unfamiliar award or enterprise agreement. We work extensively within the community services sector, so strong SCHADS Award experience is highly regarded.
You will also be:
Effective HR is a place for industrial relations specialists who want to develop their expertise, solve genuinely challenging problems, and be proud of the advice they provide.

“I appreciate the time we are given to really tackle a client’s problem and find the best solution. In previous roles, I had call targets and needed to move quickly to the next customer. At Effective HR, I have the opportunity to properly consider all the impacts. I am growing as a professional, and the quality of service I provide to my clients reflects that.”
“As the primary carer for my children, I genuinely appreciate the flexibility Effective HR provides. I am trusted to manage my own workload, attend important events for my children and, when needed, work later in the evening to ensure the work gets done. Finding a role where I can maintain a senior professional career while still being present as a mum is incredibly difficult. Effective HR allows me to do both.”
